Along came a little boy whose big brown eyes and raspy voice stole this heart of mine. There is no love like the love of your child. Watching a child chronically sick with no understanding as to why is something I wish no parent has to undergo. That is where our story begins. In our journey, we have uncovered the amazing connection between health, behavior, food, allergies and healing. Initially navigating a diet that had to be peanut, tree nut, egg, milk, soy, wheat, corn, red dye free and gluten free has been a journey. Fear of severe allergic reactions can leave a parent paralyzed, overwhelmed, afraid and feeling like you are completely alone. The daily reality and fear of an anaphylactic reaction creates a very exhausting "normal."
I do believe there is a purpose for all things, even the most challenging of circumstances. Love of your child will motivate you to change the world if it means a safer world for your child.
Food allergies come with all sorts of controversy, opinions and misunderstandings from the most well intentioned. That is by far harder than dealing with the allergy itself. In my journey I have found by relentlessly educating others those opinions and misunderstanding turn into compassion and a willingness to help. Education and training WILL save lives. That is what this is all about.
Compassion. Education. Training. Support for families.
Betsy Craig, I am forever grateful for your partnership and for championing the case for educating others on food allergies.
For families who have lost a loved one tragically from the result of food allergies, this work is forever dedicated to their honor and memory.
For my Christian, mommy loves you to the moon and back.
